Strange life where "wet world"

The average rainfall per year 1.200cm, Meghalaya is known as the wettest regions in the world.

Rain and wind is one of the reasons for life and our work more difficult, harder. Yet still exist on Earth where people have to live under bouts of rain constantly.

Amos Chapple - a New Zealand photographer who recently made a set of photos in Meghalaya (India) - the land with torrential rains constantly and are considered landmarks "wettest on Earth".

Complete daily lives of its inhabitants were he recorded a truly enchanting and the most authentic.

Meghalaya is a state in Northeast India, with an area 22.429km2, about 70% of the state is forested. The average rainfall per year 1.200cm, this place is known as the wettest regions in the world.

Meghalaya is inhabited by around 3 million people, mostly ethnic Khasi (about 1.2 million), the Garos and Jaintia.

They have lived here since 2300 this year, according to matriarchy. So who Meghalaya is also known as "matriarchal tribe."

Causes of heavy rains here are so moist air flows from submerged plains of Bangladesh to move north. When the clouds come over the hills of Meghalaya steep, temperatures fell as condensation, causing continuous rain.

To succumb to persistent rains, people here created a "raincoat" Knups named for the shape of a ship made of bamboo and banana leaves.

With the "raincoat" This unique, they can still work normally stand with both hands and form 2 Knups also help them not get wet by the rain accompanied by large thunderstorm.

In 2 month peak of the rainy season is June and July, the amount of water flow down the village measuring about 7.000mm. With its rugged mountainous terrain, landslides are inevitable in Meghalaya.

To keep the roads open in the rainy season, the local government has hired people with wages 2,5USD / day (50,000 VND) until the end of the rainy season around October.

The bridge in Meghalaya extremely special. Instead of being built of concrete as elsewhere, people here used to the very roots, trees "live" to bridge the stream.

The banyan tree roots, rubber ... are they braided into a bun. Through the centuries, the roots grow and get better, create bridges extremely uncertain. The bridge "live" up to 30 meters and can withstand the weight of 50 people.

To do this bridge, the first people to use bamboo for the frame. Then they twisted the rubber tree root side up, the roots will develop under this bamboo frame.

Some time later, the bamboo frame, but the roots rotting rubber it continues to grow. According to the people here, in the range of 7-8 years, they will have a bridge to withstand the weight of a person.

Not only the bridge, the people here are used to make these roots other works such as the stairs to go up the ramp.

The lives of the people here is relatively backward, the markets in the rain as this is still the main food supply for residents in the village.

Even though it rained, but life, the work of the people continues. For them, it is not good if you keep thinking about the difficulties when it rains because the rain, we still have to work.
